summer trend : the maxi dress

The maxi dress is popping up everywhere! This trend is super chic, comfortable, and is flattering to almost any figure. It is a summertime wardrobe essential. The maxi dress can be played up or down depending on how you accessorize it. At night, pair it with a casual blazer or a motorcycle style jacket. Long necklaces and chunky bracelets complete the look.

get the look : Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart recently appeared on Jay Leno to promote her new film in the Twilight series, as well as talk about her recently 'crowned' title as Best Dressed Woman of 2012 by UK Glamour. Stewart's style is also simple and effortless, yet undeniably chic. She wore a reddish/orange cropped blazer by Rebecca Minkoff, J Brands skinny black leather pants, a black and white graphic print t-shirt by D&G, and classic style oxford flats. Listed below are the affordable alternatives to get this great look and the direct links to them, not only in standard sizes, but there is also the plus-size outfit option as well.

Summer Trend : The Cherry Print

"Life is like a bowl of cherries..."

In honor of my very first blog post, I have decided to celebrate the cherry print! With summer upon us, this is the perfect time of year to flaunt this fresh and sexy print. This year, several designers are featuring  the cherry print such as John Galliano, Nanette Lapore, D&G, and Juicy Couture. They are taking this classic print and re-doing it in unexpected ways and colors, getting away from the "costumey" look that cherry print often has. The problem with designer fashion is the designer price tag. My goal for this  blog post and future blog posts to come, is to show the affordable alternatives to the current trends in fashion with direct links to purchase them.
